Manufacturing Lead Engineer

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXPERIENCED MANUFACTURING ENGINEER TO JOIN A SMALL INNOVATIVE COMPANY JUST AS THEY ARE ABOUT TO GO BIG!
Our client makes a unique product using brand new technology that they have invented. This is a low volume, high value product which has gone through over 2 years of development and the finished product has been commercially available for the last 2 years. They have recently secured over £1.5m in funding, and lots more orders and further customer interest mainly from Military Customers both UK and US but also other industries. The product is also going through further testing and development to adapt it's useage for other purposes and new markets. With this investment injection our client is locating to new premises in South Wales which will allow for x8 increase in production capacity through investment in new machines and equipment, larger premises, and more staff. Our client is expanding from 6 to 10 staff in 2025 and 20 staff by the end of 2026.
Role:
- This is a full cycle manufacturing engineer role
- You will lead on design, development, test, and implementation of manufacturing solutions.
- Provide solutions to production issues and reduce bottlenecks
- Implement systems that save time, reduce cost, and improve quality
About you:
- Experienced engineer with proven track record of continuous improvement
- Hands on leader, this is not a desk based leadership role, you'll get your hands dirty
- Able to effectively collaborate internally with team and Directors, and externally with suppliers and customers
- Proactive, high level of initiative, problem solver
- Flexible, although this is a Monday-Friday 0900-1730 role, on the rare occasions you are required to work on to cover an unexpected situation you will be required and willing to do so.
Salary is circa £45-50k but for an exceptional candidate this may be negotiable.
