The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily transport activities, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed efficiently, safely, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily delivery and collection routes.
- Allocate work to drivers and manage vehicle utilisation.
- Monitor transport operations and respond to any delays or issues.
- Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure orders are prepared and loaded on schedule.
- Maintain regular communication with drivers, customers, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, driver hours regulations, and company policies.
- Update transport management systems and maintain accurate records.
- Produce transport reports and performance data as required.
- Assist in resolving customer delivery queries and service issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport operation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a transport planning, logistics, or fleet coordination role.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
