Automotive Assembly & Inspection Operatives

Location: Weston-super-Mare
Pay: £13.15 – £14.40 per hour (dependent on skills and experience)

Overtime Rates:

• £19.73 per hour (based on £13.15)
• £21.60 per hour (based on £14.40)

We are recruiting on behalf of an established automotive supplier based in Weston-super-Mare. Due to continued growth and the award of new transmission programmes, our client is expanding their production teams across disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing operations.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-structured manufacturing environment supplying remanufactured engines and gearboxes to leading automotive manufacturers.

Working Patterns

Full-Time:

• Alternating 41 / 33 hour weeks
• 5 days one week, 4 days the next (9-day fortnight)
• Every other Friday off

The Role

Successful candidates will be trained to work across multiple stages of the production process, becoming multi-skilled operators within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Disassembly of engines and gearboxes following documented processes
• Safe use of provided tools and equipment
• Inspection of engine and transmission components
• Assessment of components against specifications, drawings, and quality standards
• Measurement of parts using tools such as micrometers and air gauges
• Assembly of engines and transmissions on a production line
• Functional testing of completed units

This role involves working to demanding production targets and may include physically demanding and fast-paced tasks.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in this specific role is not essential, as full training will be provided. However, applicants with experience in two or more of the following areas will be at an advantage:

• Mechanical or automotive assembly
• Engine or gearbox knowledge
• Component inspection or quality control
• Manufacturing or factory-based work
