Hours: Full-time, Permanent, Mon to Thurs 07.00-15.30 and Friday 07.00-14.00

Thomas Recruitment is currently recruiting for a CNC Milling Operative on behalf of a well-established client based in Avonmouth, Bristol. The Role:

As a CNC Milling Operative, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires previous experience, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Setting up and operating CNC milling machines to meet production specifications
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions
• Loading raw materials, tooling, and fixtures safely and accurately
• Making necessary machine adjustments to maintain tight tolerances
• Performing first-off and in-process inspections using a range of measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, etc.)
• Identifying and resolving machining or tooling issues
• Carrying out routine maintenance and keeping the work area clean and safe
• Working closely with engineers and quality teams to meet targets and ensure product quality

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential:

• Proven experience operating CNC milling machines in a production environment
• Confident interpreting engineering drawings and machining specifications
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools
• Good understanding of machining processes, materials, speeds, and feeds
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Able to work on own initiative and within a team
• Excellent communication and time management skills
