CNC Turner – Permanent Position

Salary: £18.00 per hour (£36,504 per annum) excluding overtime payments.

Location: Brislington, Bristol

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering manufacturer for an experienced CNC Turner to join their machine shop on a permanent basis. The Role

Reporting directly to the Machine Shop Manager, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines, producing high-quality precision components to exact specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines (Fanuc / G-code)
  • Carrying out turning and drilling operations
  • Preparing and loading raw materials and components
  • Inspecting finished components to ensure they meet engineering drawings and tight tolerances
  • Using precision measuring equipment to verify quality
  • Completing daily machine checks and basic maintenance
  • Working in line with ISO 9001 and company quality standards
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety procedures
  • Working efficiently to deadlines and production targets

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner / CNC Setter Programmer
  • Strong Fanuc / G-code programming experience (essential)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Confident using micrometres, verniers, and other precision measuring tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and good mathematical skills
  • Reliable, organised, and deadline-focused
  • A team player who can also work independently
