We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Driver’s Mate to assist our delivery drivers with the safe and efficient transportation of goods. The successful candidate will support loading and unloading deliveries, ensure customer satisfaction, and help maintain vehicle safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods at depots and delivery locations
• Safely handle and transport items, including heavy or fragile goods
• Navigate delivery routes using delivery notes or handheld devices
• Communicate professionally with customers during deliveries
• Obtain delivery signatures and complete relevant paperwork accurately
• Help maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle
• Follow all health and safety regulations
• Support the driver with reversing and parking where required

Requirements

• Good level of physical fitness (regular lifting and manual handling required)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under time pressure
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Previous warehouse or delivery experience (desirable but not essential)
