Job Summary
We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Officer to join a mobile healthcare unit based in Cardiff. This is a rewarding role supporting the smooth running of a specialist unit where patients attend appointments to receive chemotherapy treatment.
The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a welcoming, clean and comfortable environment for patients, while working alongside the healthcare team and logistics staff.
The Role:
- Opening and closing the mobile unit at the beginning and end of the day.
- Meeting and greeting patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Providing a welcoming presence and supporting patients throughout their visit.
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards across the unit.
- Ensuring the environment remains safe, tidy and comfortable for patients and staff.
- Listening to any concerns, questions or issues raised by patients and passing these on to the appropriate people.
- Working closely with logistics officers and healthcare staff to ensure the unit operates smoothly.
- Supporting the team while ensuring you do not interrupt or interfere with nurses carrying out clinical duties.
About You:
- A compassionate and approachable individual who enjoys speaking with and supporting people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working in a healthcare environment with patients who may be receiving sensitive treatments.
- Empathetic, patient and able to make people feel at ease.
- Reliable and professional with a strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently while also being part of a wider team.
- Previous experience in healthcare, facilities, customer service, hospitality or a similar environment would be beneficial.
What's On Offer:
- £12.71 - £13.00 per hour depending on experience.
- Monday to Friday working pattern.
- 2 x 10-hour shifts per week.
