We are seeking experienced HGV Fitters for a well-known client based near Bridgend.

As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the workshop.

This position requires strong technical expertise alongside effective organisational, management, and communication skills to ensure the workshop operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations.

What will you be doing?

Job Details

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain fleet vehicles (HGV and light-duty)
• Carry out and oversee Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)
• Track and manage workshop time per vehicle
• Manage stock control and COSHH-compliant storage
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and security standards
• Coordinate MOT bookings
• Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams

Skills & Knowledge

• Valid UK driving licence (minimum 12 months). 
• Extensive experience as an HGV Fitter/Mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, engines, and machinery
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

Pay Rate:

£40,000 - £50,000 per annum 

Shifts:

Monday to Friday 7am-4:30pm with occasional weekend work, depending on requirements.
