Job Summary
Thomas Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to join their busy manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil on a 7-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is confident supporting managers and employees across a wide range of HR activities.
The Role
Working as part of the on-site HR team, you will provide professional HR support across the plant, ensuring the smooth delivery of day-to-day HR services while supporting employee engagement, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, organised, resilient, and able to build strong working relationships throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Coordinate and support the shop floor performance management process.
- Manage employee relations cases including absence, disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters.
- Liaise with occupational health providers, recruitment agencies, and training providers.
- Maintain accurate HR records and employee data.
- Update HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation.
- Support HR projects and employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist with organisational change and continuous improvement activities.
- Build strong relationships across manufacturing and logistics departments.
- Support the wider HR and Payroll team with daily operational activities.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and enjoys working in a fast-moving production environment.
You'll ideally have:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent HR experience).
- Previous HR experience within automotive manufacturing or a similar production environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing employee relations cases.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A resilient, adaptable and organised approach.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- A continuous improvement mindset with good commercial awareness.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
