Location: Newport

Hours: 08.00am-17.00pm

Salary: £12.50 per hour

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Associate to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods and materials through the supply chain, ensuring efficient operations from shipping and receiving to inventory management. This position requires a strong understanding of logistics processes, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate processing of goods.
  • Manage inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimise transportation management and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency within the logistics framework.
  • Utilise Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including AS400, for data entry and reporting purposes.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement in logistics operations.
  • Assist in materials handling, including picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently as required during warehouse operations.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of category management within logistics and supply chain contexts.
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems and warehouse management systems.
  • Experience with shipping & receiving processes, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly AS400, is advantageous.
  • Excellent data analysis skills for informed decision-making and process optimisation.
  • Previous warehouse experience is preferred, including hands-on experience with picking & packing procedures.
  • Ability to operate forklifts safely; relevant certification is a plus.
