Job Advert – Marketing & PR Lead
Location: Cardiff
Salary: £36,400 per annum + 4% bonus

About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic marketing and communications professional to join our client in a pivotal role. As Marketing & PR Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping how they tell their story—building their profile, engaging key audiences, and amplifying their impact across Cardiff and beyond.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative, confident, and politically astute communicator who thrives on delivering campaigns that make a difference. You’ll take ownership of all marketing and PR activity, ensuring the brand is visible, consistent, and impactful.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development and delivery of a forward-thinking marketing strategy aligned with core objectives.

  • Design and run multi-channel campaigns that grow the brand and showcase their work.

  • Manage engaging content across digital, social, and print platforms.

  • Build strong relationships with media, political stakeholders, and industry bodies.

  • Draft press releases, briefings, and reactive communications with professionalism and clarity.

  • Deliver high-quality communications to our business members and partners, including newsletters and stakeholder updates.

  • Support senior leadership with messaging, public speaking, and advocacy materials.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven track record in marketing and PR, with successful campaigns and strong media engagement under your belt.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.

  • A strong grasp of brand positioning, campaign management, and reputational risk.

  • Experience juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Confidence in working with media, external agencies, and senior stakeholders.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Understanding of the Welsh political and economic landscape.

  • Experience in place marketing, business improvement districts, or urban regeneration.

  • Welsh language skills.
