FOR Cardiff are the Business Improvement District for Cardiff who help enhance the city's public spaces and deliver improvements tot eh city centre that make a real difference. The purpose of this role is to work closely with local authorities, business , and other key stakeholders to keep Cardiff City Centre clean and safe, enhancing the attractiveness of the public realms with well maintained seating and benches, planters, hanging baskets, etc, and overseeing operational projects including the installation of Christmas Lights.

As an integral part of the Place Management team, with the support of the Associate Director, you'll deliver the workstream programmes and budget including the development and delivery of the annual plan. Other responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Place Management working group ensuring a strong membership and skill set spread from member businesses representatives.  
  • Collaborate with partners to coordinate an organised response to the challenges facing the city and businesses in the nighttime economy. 
  • Work with the business engagement team to spread awareness of the FOR Cardiff place management initiatives to boost buy in and engagement. 
  • Nurture relationships with partners to enhance the success of FOR Cardiff place management projects and campaigns. 
  • Manage partners and contractors ensuring the delivering of the action plan runs on time and within budget.
  • Work with the Radio Supplier to ensure the successful management of the city’s radio scheme. Championing the scheme to new businesses to expand the scheme. Oversee member compliance with protocols and policies.

To be considered for the role you will need to be able to demonstrate that you are a practical thinker that can provide solutions to challenges. You'll need excellent communications skills, whether that be for producing clear, structured written work or when building relationships with a range of stakeholders and partners. 

You will likely come from a Facilities Management, Public Realms Operations, or Urban Regeneration background, and most importantly you must be passionate about Cardiff and everything it has to offer. You'll also be able to demonstrate competence and experience in project management, business planning, and budget management.
