Production Team Leader

Location: Tewkesbury
Department: Production
Hours: Minimum 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 (early & late shifts – flexibility required)

Pay: £14.54

The Role:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a busy production operation based in Tewkesbury.

This is a hands-on leadership position within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, responsible for leading production operatives and overseeing individual production processes. The successful candidate will be a confident, adaptable leader with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to achieving operational excellence.

The role reports to Shift Managers and works closely with Production Managers to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, train, and develop production operatives to achieve optimal line efficiency
  • Provide clear, practical instruction and hands-on support to teams during shifts
  • Work collaboratively within the leadership team to meet internal and external quality standards
  • Ensure production records are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Identify and report maintenance, quality, or production issues promptly and in line with company procedures
  • Ensure all staff comply with company policies, hygiene standards, and housekeeping requirements
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment at all times
  • Maintain flexibility to provide appropriate shift cover in line with business needs
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required
  • Cover other appropriate roles when necessary
  • Understand, comply with, and enforce the Company Health & Safety Policy

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in a busy operational or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
  • Positive, proactive attitude with high levels of commitment and motivation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and meet tight deadlines

Desirable:

  • Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG environments
  • Knowledge of HACCP, KPIs, and food safety standards
  • Background in dairy or similar food production sectors

Shift Information

  • Weekdays: Early shifts from 05:15 or late shifts from 13:30 (finish times dependent on production requirements)
  • Saturdays: Starts from 05:15 or 11:00

Please note: Candidates must be able to commit to both early and late shifts. Shift patterns are not fixed and will vary according to production demands.
