Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sewing Machinist to join our manufacturing team, dedicated to producing high-quality textile and apparel products. The Sewing Machinist will operate various sewing machines and related equipment to assemble garments and fabric items efficiently and accurately. This role is essential in maintaining our standards of craftsmanship, precision, and timely production. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with diverse fabrics and sewing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines, including specialized equipment such as CNC sewing machines if applicable, ensuring consistent quality throughout production runs.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to execute precise stitching and assembly.
• Maintain and troubleshoot sewing machinery, performing routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Follow safety protocols diligently while handling power tools, cutting equipment, and other manufacturing tools.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and optimize workflow efficiency.
• Assist in setting up sewing stations by preparing fabrics, selecting appropriate tools, and adjusting machine settings as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of production output and report any issues promptly to supervisors.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Sewing Machinist or in a similar textile manufacturing role.
• Familiarity with industrial sewing machines and related equipment; experience with CNC sewing machines is a plus.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, fabric types, and sewing techniques.
• Mechanical knowledge of machinery operation, troubleshooting, and basic repairs.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for quality checks.
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments.
• Experience working with plastics injection molding or other manufacturing processes is advantageous.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
