Salary: £17.41 Ph days and afternoons, Nights £19.00 Ph
Hours:
Days : Monday to Thursday 6:00am – 2:00pm Friday 6:00am – 11:20am
Afternoons : Monday to Thursday 2:00pm – 10:00pm Friday 11:20am – 4:40pm
Nights : Monday to Thursday 10:00pm – 6:00am Friday 4:40pm – 10:00pm
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual for the position of a TIG Welder. This role involves working within a dynamic manufacturing environment, specialising in welding and fabrication processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality components, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and supporting ongoing production activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those with a passion for mechanical work and fabrication to develop their skills further.
Duties
- Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques to produce precision components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to fabricate sheet metal parts
- Assist with assembly processes, ensuring parts are correctly fitted and secured
- Operate fabrication machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Conduct inspections of finished products to meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Support ongoing maintenance and minor repairs of equipment as needed
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality expectations
Requirements
- Proven experience in TIG welding and general welding practices
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques
- Knowledge of sheet metal work and assembly processes
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Prior experience with welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly is desirable
- A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in welding or metal fabrication is advantageous
