Transport Supervisor Temporary to Permanent Role
Location: Port Talbot
Salary: £32,000 p/a
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturer with multiple UK sites, for an experienced and motivated Transport Supervisor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of a fast-paced transport operation.

The Role:
You will work closely with the Transport Manager to help manage logistics operations, ensuring the effective use of staff and resources. The role is integral to delivering a high level of service to customers while maintaining compliance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support the Transport Manager in overseeing and motivating the transport team to ensure operational targets are met.

· Assist in the development and implementation of transport procedures and operational standards.

· Help manage work allocation and rotation, ensuring efficient deployment of drivers and vehicles.

· Coordinate order planning to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.

· Work collaboratively with drivers, warehouse staff, and dispatch teams.

· Monitor and report incidents, driver concerns, and external factors such as road closures.

· Record and report staff absence to relevant managers.

· Contribute to health and safety compliance, including PPE checks and audits.

· Respond to internal and external enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face.

· Generate and support the delivery of KPIs and daily operational statistics.

· Assist with regulatory compliance and internal audit preparation.

· Maintain positive working relationships across teams and support collaborative efforts.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

· Previous experience in a similar transport or logistics support role.

· Solid understanding of transport operations and the logistics industry.

· Strong organisational and time management skills.

· Confident communication abilities at all levels.

· A proactive, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

· IT literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

· Flexibility and a team-oriented approach.
